Don't Call It A Comeback

I left Paris on Sunday but am abroad for one more week -- lucky for you that means two more Monday updates ;-).

Climate Summit
Main thing that's happening in my life right now is this ol' thing: I'm currently in Poland attending the 24th Conference of the Parties (COP) -- a huge international event hosted by the United Nations to discuss policy, entrepreneurship and strategy for combatting the climate crisis. You may have heard of the "Paris Agreement" ? That was at COP 21 just three years ago. And if I look like I'm absolutely terrified in this photo... it's because I am.

Katowice & Oświęcim

Living in France for four months had me feeling pretty confident in my ability to navigate foreign spaces but Poland really threw me for a loop. The culture shock was very disorienting and the conference itself was initially overwhelming, but the Polish people have shown me nothing but absolute kindness. For example, pictured here is the SECOND mug of tea my Airbnb host has brought to me while I'm sat on the floor typing this.

Le Vaudeville

And speaking of France... I know I've talked before about how wonderful the art scene has been and how much I've grown as an individual, but I didn't even realize until leaving how important the people around me had become. Here are my friends (!!!) and I out to dinner on our last night with our program. We had so much fun talking and laughing we didn't even realize that we were the last people in the restaurant.

Jean Michel Basquiat

With all the craziness going on I've been repeating this quote by Marianne Williamson to myself over and over: "Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking." Take it to heart, folks!! Change the world!!!!

Thanks for reading,
Abby <3

P.S. What are some quotes you love? Some questions you have? How did your Monday go? I wanna know!!
