Our worship service this Sunday revolves around one of the wildest, absurd and topsy-turvy stories in the Jesus folder - the story of Mary and Elizabeth and the famous Magnificat. This amazing story was the basis for the centuries-old tradition, The Feast of Fools, where none in authority were immune from mockery. Lay leaders wore clergy vestments inside-out and spectacles with rounds of orange peel instead of glass.
These are our people! The sounds and feel of a street overflowing with Carnival marks the day. Imagine clowns, parades, musicians, street theatre and the unexpected.
Well, we might not make that but still, in the midst of the Christmas chaos, join us in worship for a sense of real chaos that leads to transformation and people singing in the streets!
