P2PU is a community of librarians, educators, community organizers, and designers who believe that everybody should have access to free social learning experiences in their neighborhood.

Here's a brief summary of what we're doing these days:

We run (a lot!) of learning circles

Learning circles are groups of people who meet in public spaces to learn something together using free online courses and peer learning practices.
Since January 2016, 495 learning circles have met a total of 3,047 times.
That's a lot of learning in only a few years! But, who is doing all this work? And, what are they learning?

Our new community digest shines a spotlight on our global progress. The digest is sent to all 800+ P2PU community members every three weeks and features news and events, learning circles by country and topic, past and upcoming learning circles, and questions and insights from community members, as well as the graph featured above.

Join P2PU to receive our digests, to participate in our discussions, and to create a learning circle today.

We share our knowledge

How do we learn together? Where do we share our collective knowledge? How can we tell others about our work? Here is our response to these questions in 2018:
P2PU Forum
We support our community to document best practices, share ideas, and connect through community.p2pu.org

Learning circle reports
We share the impact of each learning circle with one another. See our public reports for yourself.
Shareable resources
We create awesome learning circle resources like this explainer videoinfographic, and slidedeck, along with a dozen FAQ videos.

Collaboration
We work with others to become leaders in the field of education and plan for the future of online education.

We support each other

We're gearing up to support new community partners to develop and expand equitable and accessible education for all.
  • Over the next three years, P2PU will be supporting educators and librarians in Romania, Poland, Germany, Denmark, and Finland as part of an EU Erasmus + Grant. Watch out for our big upcoming announcement!
  • P2PU supported four librarians from the Kenya National Library Service as they traveled to Uganda and Zambia to train 50 public librarians in creating a learning circle network.
We hope you find some time to reflect on what you've learned in 2018, and we're looking forward to reconnecting with you in 2019.

All our best,
Grif, Dirk, Nico, Sharon, and the P2PU Family
