Salad Success! Malia's Story
"Listen I just wanted to share this story ...Malia has only has eaten 2 vegetables her whole life of 9 years: spinach and broccoli. I’ve given up on fruit. She only eats cuties which she can’t eat because she’s allergic to them.
But tonight a miracle happened! Malia asked me to prep lettuce and got out the salt and parmesan cheese. She then made her own salad! Once we were at the table she sprinkled in the brown rice I made as a dinner side and picked apart my fried chicken to add to her salad. Then, she ate it ALL!
Did my stomach turn little as I watched while she did this? Sure! But the point is, she ate salad! I honestly feel it’s due to the concept and hard work of the garden and Green Team! So if you wonder while you’re at Rosa Parks picking lettuce, baby sitting chickens on holidays and running late to work after the 8AM parent meetings...think of Malia! The girl who took 9 years to eat salad!
