From Julie

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

What a huge year! From performing in the Commonwealth Games to being a part of three overseas tours and one interstate, with many incredible events and concerts in between, 2018 has certainly delivered wonderful experiences for our choristers.

And even though this is the final Birralee Billboard for 2018, there's still a few events left, with our Resonance of Birralee, BBV, Birralee Blokes and Birralee Singers a part of festive events right up until Christmas.

A special mention must go to our choir (made up of BBV and Birralee Singers) who performed at the Lord Mayor's Christmas Carols on Saturday night. It was a stand out program and our choristers did us proud. Thank you to our conductors and volunteer team for their contribution to rehearsals, especially during the performance week.

Thank you to our choristers for their commitment shown this year and to the ongoing work of our conductors, accompanists, office team and volunteers. Many of the events this year would not have been possible without your talent, organisational skills and enthusiasm.

Make sure you check out this month's blog wrapping up 'the year that was' and also the final chorister highlights of the year via the below.

We look forward to seeing you bright and well after the break, and for those choristers who haven't already, make sure you re-enrol for next year via the below button.

Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

FAREWELL AMIRAH!

We would like to wish Amirah Farrell all the very best wishes as she leaves Birralee to accept her dream job at the Australian Bureau of Statistics in Canberra. Birralee has been a large part of Amirah's life since 2005, singing with Brisbane Birralee Voices and most recently with Resonance of Birralee. While studying at the University of Queensland, Amirah joined Birralee’s office team in 2014 to assist with choir administration, particularly for the Birralee Blokes and Resonance of Birralee, along with tour organisation. During her time with Birralee she has had many highights including touring Austria, Italy, Belgium, France and Kazakhstan. Amirah recently completed her thesis in palaeoecology. We wish her all the very best on her next adventure. Amirah you've been an amazing part of our team and we will miss you!
