SIX MILE CYPRESS SLOUGH PRESERVE *NORTH* (NOT the boardwalk!)
Many of you have probably experienced the boardwalk at Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve in Fort Myers. But you probably have NOT been to Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve NORTH.
This Conservation 20/20 preserve contains the headwaters of the Slough. It is located adjacent to the Buckingham section of Lee County. The first parcel of Six Mile NORTH was acquired in 2010. A large-scale hydrologic restoration project was completed in December 2017. Equestrian and hiking trails were subsequently opened to the public.
JOIN US on Saturday January 26th, 9:00 AM at the trailhead for a guided tour presented by Conservation 20/20 staff!
Please come prepared for the weather and about a 2.5 mile hike. Checklist: hat, sunscreen, water, long pants and sleeves, closed-toe shoes, camera, binoculars.
