Dear <<First Name>>,
“Welcome to New England!” … the refrain expressed all too often by inhabitants of this geographic region where it’s all too common to experience multiple seasons in a day. And, as the official start of winter looms, I marvel at the time it takes to get the household ready to hunker down.
- Bring in wicker deck chairs (check!)
- Clean said deck (oops, missed this one)
- Rake the leaves (partial check)
- Put cover on A/C (check!)
- Harvest last garden remnants (Kale is hearty!)
- Bring in bunting (and remove spider nests – yuck)
- Store hoses in garage (check!)
- And, on the list goes….
The transition to winter takes time and transpires over several weekends. There’s a bit of a rhythm to it all … not unlike the beat of the business year coming to a close and the prospect of a new year on the horizon.
The challenge for most of us is that we get so busy achieving our business goals, our leadership development takes a back seat. Before we know it, the year is over and that conference or training program we intended to register for is in the rearview mirror …. again.
Thankfully, a new year is upon us! And investing time to plan your leadership development is not a heavy lift. Read on for three simple ideas (and a downloadable tool) to help you keep your leadership development front and center for the coming year and beyond.
Cheers!
