Meet Buddy. He's such a happy little guy and so loving. Buddy is one of our Senior Rescue furbabies who will be 12-years-old come March and has so much love to give. Buddy would be a great companion to someone who's retired and likes a dog on their lap. He loves to give kisses and now, since he had 20 teeth pulled, his breath is so much better! We have some wonderful news. Delightful Miss Emily in MA has been adopted!!! What a fairy tale (tail) ending for this girl who came to us from a shelter where one of our fosters volunteers and saw that she was in terrible shape. She contacted our coordinator for approval to pull her and another foster stepped up to foster. And that's where the Cinderella story began. This is a case that shows the potential in every dog. Congrats to Lauren and Kyle on their new family and big thanks to Victoria for fostering and Deanna for finding this diamond in the ruff.
Giving Tuesday PupDate

Mandie Has Found Her Forever Home
Mandie came to us at this time last year. She had been brought into a shelter in Sacramento, CA and was a matted mess who had to be sedated to shave her down. Mandie was scared and very untrusting of strangers, especially men. The shelter quickly realized that Mandie needed the love and support that only a rescue group could provide, so they reached out to AMAR. Mandie was placed with our foster mom/Board Member, Chandra, who has worked with Mandie over the past year helping her gain confidence and trust people.
Mandie met with potential forever families, but none were quite the right fit, as Mandie still has trust challenges. Mandie's foster Mom spoke with AMAR's President and National Director and the three of them agreed that the best place for Mandie to stay is with her Foster Mom....forever. Mandie also lives with her furbrother Baylor who is an Australian Shepherd (rescue) and 3 cats, Scooter, Spencer and Cooper, along with numerous foster kittens who come and go.

A month ago we shared a letter from Maverick's Forever Mom who was over the moon (even after 3 years,) with love for her adopted Maltese, whom our AMAR President Gayle fostered. Sadly earlier this week Gayle received news that Maverick, passed away suddenly from a heart attack at 10 years old.
Maverick's mom's heart is torn in two. He was her sole companion, the sunshine of her life. Please keep her in your thoughts at this difficult time.
Rest In Peace Shilo
We received some sad news from one of our volunteers who fostered and adopted Shiloh, a dog who came to us in deplorable condition in 2014. He was malnourished, eye and mouth infections, and an illness that was ongoing. Monica was totally devoted to caring for and loving him from the moment she got him.
Monica wrote, with a heavy heart: " Shiloh passed away yesterday (12/12/2018) in my arms. He fought this mystery disease like a champion, right up to the end. For a super sweet lovable rescue who was not expected to live, Shiloh gave me 4 years, 9 months and 4 days of pure love. He was 12 yrs 5 mths old. RIP my sweet Shiloh until we meet
We all mourn his loss and thank Monica for her total devotion to this special boy.

FOSTER HOMES NEEDED!!
We are in dire need of Foster Homes throughout the United States. Daily we receive requests to take in dogs from shelters or owners needing to surrender them. The only way we can accept these dogs is if we have a place to put them. We hate turning them down but sometimes we have no choice and they may end up in a shelter or abandoned on the street.
