"Dogs are notorious for hope. Dogs believe that this morning, this very morning, may begin a day of fascination, easily grander than the any day in the past." -- Donald McCaig

ELSA overheard the Puppy Caretaker's saying she and her siblings will be going up North this week. Now she's convinced they meant she's going to see Santa!

Client Spotlight

GRIFFIN eagerly awaits his reward for earning his Master's Degree. He thinks the diploma will be nice, but realizes he cannot eat paper.

Our paws4people team, Brittany & GRIFFIN have been very busy these past few months. All of their hard work seems to have paid off as they have been preparing for graduation, GRIFFIN earned his own degree right alongside his Client.

Brittany poses with her crown as GRIFFIN looks on as stoic as ever.

Brittany has also taken the time to step out of her comfort zone by competing in Ms. Wheelchair USA pageants. She & GRIFFIN just finished up their presentations appropriately titled, "Tassels without Barriers." Way to go team, we truly couldn't be more proud of your accomplishments.

December ITT

The chaos of holiday shopping didn't deter us from training in town. Here Client's prepare their Dogs to focus on them, even with distractions!

As we near the end of 2018, Clients piled into the Port City to train with their Dogs once more before the new year. Clients had the opportunity to visit ADDIE's Way to practice their handling skills in recall circles and rally lines. They were excited to work with their Dogs and even said they enjoyed some of the more challenging exercises.

Joe & CADWELL listen intently to the disability skills lecture this month. This helps Joe understand all the ways his buddy will help him control, regulate, and mitigateSM his symptom set.

We were also able to visit many area shopping centers, among busy holiday shoppers, at the Independence Mall, Lowe's in Porter's Neck, Ollie's, Old Time Pottery, Sam's Club,Target, and Walmart.

ADDIE's Way Corner

This week marks an exciting time in the lives of some very special puppies, as it signifies the end of their puppy training while they move on to the next phase in their lives...they're off to prison!

CINDER, PEARL, and DALE are ready for the next phase in training because of the love and care they received from our Student Interns, Puppy Caregivers, and volunteers. Thank you for being an amazing group!

Our pups will be transported with care to West Virginia this week to meet their Inmate Trainers, and more than likely snow, for the very first time. They will each be missed dearly, but we know they are moving on so that they can one day do great things, like the incredible Dogs before them.

Just FUR Fun

The Reynold's girls are at it again, being cute as can be, while HEART looks on holding a perfect stay. She knows they'll ask Santa to bring her something sweet this year.
