Simulation Exercise
3- 6 Dec.  /  Strumica
EuFMD and the Food and Veterinary Agency of The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia delivered a foot-and-mouth disease (simulation exercise in Strumica in the south of the country. The contingency plan and standard operating procedures of the country were the central focus for the exercise.  The exercise was split into two exercises with one as a series of drills on farm and the other a desktop. The on farm exercise saw participants undertake the practical skills required for an FMD suspicion case. For the desktop, the participants were split into groups to produce a depopulation for different animal holdings confirmed with FMD. The event was very well received and the country will incorporate the outcomes of this exercise into a long term GET  (Guide to Exercises and Training) Prepared Plan consisting of future training events and simulation exercises.
