The Pride of Swindon Awards 2019

Do you know an individual or team who have made a difference to your community by helping others? They could be a volunteer who has given their time selflessly for years; a child or adult who has displayed remarkable courage; a person who has helped reduce crime in your area; an exemplary young person who should be recognised as a role model; an extra special neighbour; or an employee who has gone the extra mile for those in the community.

The Pride of Swindon Awards is now in its 11th year. Closing date for nominations is Friday 25th January 2019.

Consider Alternatives To A&E Services

Swindon residents are being reminded of the range of alternatives to A&E to ease pressure over the winter months.

From the walk-in centre at the new NHS Swindon Health Centre to the Urgent Care Centre at the Great Western Hospital, there are a wide range of healthcare options. Help and advice is available from one of the town's 30 pharmacies and the NHS 111 helpline can help to quickly assess callers.

Another way of keeping well over the winter is to get the flu jab, available directly from a patient's GP surgery, at most pharmacies and even some high street chemists and supermarkets - it is free for vulnerable groups.

Swindon Ella Forum will next meet on Friday January 25th.
