Tips to Avoid Food Allergy Reactions During the Holidays

You've made your holiday to-do list, and you've checked it twice. But have you added ways to avoid food allergy reactions to your list? As you prepare for the many celebrations to come, add some of these tips to your list:
We have made a lot of progress over the years advocating with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to have sesame included as a top allergen on labels. But we still have more to do, and we need your help. Read the timeline of our progress to improve sesame labeling and learn how to share your story with the FDA.

If your child has just been diagnosed with food allergies, or you would like a refresher on the basics, check out our course, "Managing Your Child's Food Allergies." It is presented by David Stukus, MD, pediatric asthma and allergy specialist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

9 New Recalls Due to Undeclared Allergens

There were 9 new recalls, including Kitchen Cravings Strawberry and Mixed Berry Parfaits (undeclared tree nuts) and Tres Hermanos Bakery Telera and Bolillo Breads (undeclared milk). There were also two product alerts from Hershey's and Krusteaz.
