CHAPTER NEWS

SONG OF SONOMA
Song of Sonoma

FIRST ANNUAL A Capella Festival is in the Books!
On October 6th we sang with 3 other A Capella groups from the area at the Glaser Center in Santa Rosa. Our audience was diverse and appreciative and the energy was amazing! Everyone wants to know - WHEN IS THE SECOND ANNUAL? - June 29, 2019 - SAVE THE DATE!

Quartets and More!

We are proud of our developing quartets. Our Director, Sharon Carlson, generously hosted a workshop for all quartet and double-quartet participants to help us get started and learn more about selecting music. Song of Sonoma now has 4 registered quartets and a developing double-quartet! “Make Mine a Double” made its debut at our Acapella Festival in October. What a memorable performance for them and for us! Hope to see much more of them.

Song of Sonoma Welcomes our Newest Members
We have welcomed SIX new members over the summer! They are all special women with beautiful voices. Several were able to take advantage of a Newbie Orientation to help them with makeup before our performance on October 6th.

More New Members on the Way!
We had a super fun baby shower for two of our member, who now are mothers to the beautiful children pictured below. We ARE pretty good at parties.

Holidays are Coming!
Our newest Assistant Director, Claire Urquart, has been helping us get ready for holiday singing and boy is she good at that arm waving! Beauty and charm don’t hurt either and the repertoire is so much fun!

PACIFIC EMPIRE
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Pacific Empire Chorus

We have been busy hosting new guests who have joined us for our multiple holiday sing outs this year.  We welcomed Santa in Petaluma, sang at the Petaluma Women’s Foundations holiday luncheon and performed for the Festival of Trees on November 30th in Petaluma,  We are also excited about our upcoming Christmas Show with the Napa Valley Harmonizers in Napa on December 9, 2018.  If you are interested, get your tickets at napavalleyharmonizers.com

And of course, sales are going crazy for PEC’s 7th annual Crab Feed – February 2, 2019 at the Petaluma Vets.  This is always a sold out event so if you need tickets, go to our webpage now – pacificempire.org and get those tickets while they are available.  All the Crab you can eat, along with Salad, Pasta, Bread and homemade desserts. Lots of singing by PEC and Ladies First.  We also have a famous and fabulous Auction house that brings their amazing art for a silent auction.  Well worth it.

From all of us to all of you
We hope you have the most wonderful holiday season.

WEBSITE CONVERSION PLANNED
We have started transferring website information to a new website, which we are hope to launch after contest., in May. We are switching from ConnectedSound to HarmonySite. About eight chapters in the region already use HarmonySite as their webserver so they know some of the benefits we will reap from conversion.. This conversion will make interaction between the chorus/chapters and the region more mainstream. We look forward to sharing more information at Winter Aim in January.
