New Moon No. 21, Fall

LUMEN  LETTERS

“Oh wondrous headed doe. Amongst its horns it carries the light of the blessed sun.

Hungarian Christmas Folk Song
Season's greetings, my dear ones.

Winter is preparing to cover us with a blanket of quiet, cozy cocooning. An opportunity, if we seek it out, to draw our energy inwards and rest deeply. The winter season, from a place of nature awareness, coaxes us to slow down, and even stop. To regroup, restore, let things settle and die off, so that we can be born anew with the emergence of the spring season. The winter season, as seen by a nature disconnected consumeristic society, has us revving up for the holiday season, exerting so much energy and leaving very little time to rest and delve into hibernation mode. And then once the holidays are over, it's New Year's resolution time which usually equates to a lot of externally driven goals rather than tending to our inner landscape during these quiet months that lend so well to this deeper psycho-spiritual work.

For someone who honors the cycles of the seasons, I too, am feeling the opposition to slowing down and drawing inwards in many aspects of my life. Not because I, deep down, don't want to slow down. Trust me, I do. But when you're in the wellness realms, things pick up during the holidays because people need healing and care during the hectic holiday season. They want an escape, and a reason to slow down. Somewhere deep in our animal bodies, we too, know the truths of the winter season. I encourage you to carve out some time this winter to take great care of yourself. Emphasis on great. Make it a priority.

To assist with making self care a priority this winter season, I'm offering a more accessible opportunity to work privately with me. Because I wish for everyone's winter to reflect the natural rhythms of what the season symbolizes - a phase of internal focus, deep rest, and resetting.
During a time of indulgent consumption in our western culture, I'd like to offer steep savings on the opportunity to tend to your inner light when you feel like you might just burn out.

This is why I'm offering 2 private sessions for $100. Applies to
Integrative Healing or Virtual Luminosity sessions. Mix and match, share or gift. How you use the sessions is totally up to you! Gift cards available upon request. Offer ends January 1st, 2019.

I'd like to steer the direction of this Letter towards the spirit of Winter Solstice that is upon us, and the ancient symbol of the reindeer related to Winter Solstice season.

I've been waiting nearly a year to share this piece of writing that sheds light on the pagan origins of Christmas and the profound significance of mother reindeer as leader of Winter Solstice's return of the light. Having a great affinity with deer, and after learning my motherline is most likely traced back to the Southern Altaians and Siberian regions of the world, I have grown even more fond of the majestic female reindeer as an ancestral symbol to honor. Strength, resilience, and life-giving, life-providing. She retains her antlers throughout the winter, while her male counterparts shed them. Becoming the leader of the herd, guiding them through the harshest months of the year.

Yeah, mother reindeer is a badass, and one that many Northern peoples worshipped throughout the winter months. For she promised the return of the light, sun carried in her horns while she flew through the longest, darkest night sky of the year - Winter Solstice. Sorry Rudolph, but I'll be singing songs of the Deer Mother this Yule. And perhaps after reading about these origins, you may feel similarly, too.
Tired of Christmas music already?

I’ve curated a truly traditional playlist for Yuletide greetings.

Sit around the fire, press play, & celebrate the return of the light this Winter Solstice.

May you find quiet moments to slow down,
rest well,
& take great care this holiday season.

Luminous love,
