CBFP meeting in Brussels: a new book & new website to promote the Salonga National Park officially launched

These two communication tools aim at publicizing Africa's largest forest park and improve its visibility in the Democratic Republic of Congo and around the world. "Salonga, au coeur de la grande forêt congolaise" written by Jean-Pierre & Gaël Vande weghe and the new website www.salonga.org  were officially launched at the 18th meeting of the Congolese-Congo Basin Forest Partnership held in Brussels from 27 to 28 November 2018. The Salonga National Park under the spotlight at the COP14-CBD in Egypt

At #COP14 of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in Egypt, the Salonga National Park was under the spotlights in the session #2 of the #AfricaEcologicalFutures, moderated by Laurent Some, Director of Policy and Partnerships for WWF Africa. Session focused on the safeguarding of ecology in collaboration with experts from WWF Africa, the Congolese Institute for Conservation of Nature - ICCN and BMZ. A special zoom was made on the Salonga National Park, which is the largest national park of African virgin forest. Read more

 

WWF-DRC & the DRC Ministry of agriculture have launched the 11 national principles campaign of sustainable palm oil

The campaign to scale the eleven national principles of sustainable palm oil production in the DRC was kicked off by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr Evariste Bushabu, on November 12, 2018 in Kinshasa with the support of WWF-RDC. This campaign, which started in Kinshasa, will continue in palm oil-producing provinces such as Kongo-Central, Kwango, Kwilu. Read more

WWF-DRC trained 27 NGOs experts in social clauses management

Social clauses agreements facilitation and follow-up training workshop with the civil society experts in the Democratic Republic of Congo closed on a very satisfactory note on Thursday, November 15 , 2018. WWF-DRC organized this workshop through its Forest Governance Program funded by the Norwegian Cooperation Agency - NORAD. 27 experts from NGOs partners were thus equipped on methods and techniques that will help them fulfill their field mission in the framework of negotiations of social clauses and requirements specifications with the hosting of this workshop.
