Hightstown Walkability Audit
On November 29, 2018, GMTMA staff along with Hightstown’s Streets and Sidewalk Committee, town council, public works, municipal engineer, Chief of Police, Downtown Business Association and Mercer County planning participated in a walkability audit in the downtown area.
A walkability audit can help the community identify walking barriers and learn about traffic conditions at certain times of the day, at high incident crash locations, around schools, downtowns etc., and identify needed improvements to include in grant application for improvement projects.
If you need help conducting a walkability and/or bikeability audit in your community, contact us.

Thanks to Morgan Pesanelli, a Masters Candidate at Rutgers School of Public Health and Carol Chamberlain, Lawrence’s Health Officer for bringing attention to this public health crisis.
