District council leader praises work of Community Safety Partnership 'police hub'
The leader of Epping Forest District Council has praised the impact being made on reducing crime by the district council-funded police officers and 'police hub' staff.
A Sergeant and two Police Constables with Essex Police are being directly funded by the district council on a three-year arrangement with the officers based at the Community Safety Partnership 'police hub' at the Civic Offices in Epping.
Council leader Chris Whitbread, speaking at Thursday's district council meeting, said: "Our decision to directly fund three additional full-time police officers and the establishment of the 'police hub' is unique across Essex and something we should be proud of.
"We have already seen a positive impact on crime reduction as part of our community approach to community safety."
