I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my wonderful colleagues and friends for their support during 2018 as I made the transition from Darwin to Melbourne and becoming Professor of Legal Practice at Deakin University, whilst still stirring the justice / injustice pot in England and Wales.

As ever, it has been a busy year in practice, teaching and for my academic research. I hope my newsletter inspires you all in your careers and endeavours and that this time of year brings all of you personal wellbeing and very happy holidays with your family and friends.

I will be ‘out of the office’ from 21st December 2018 to 7th January 2019 but you will probably find me on Instagram @gerryqc

Finally...

A sad goodbye to Criminal Law and Justice Weekly which discontinued publication after nearly 200 years. My blog Scuttlebutt had been going for about 5 years and I believe I was the first women to publish a comment piece.

Over the coming year I will relaunch my website and make sure you don’t miss out on all my news!
