The IAEH has worked with experienced event hosts, event owners and industry experts to provide guidance, and standard definitions, for measuring the impact of events and contributing to global sustainable development goals. After workshops and meetings in London, Lausanne and Glasgow and an extensive consultation process, the Event Impact Standards pages are now live on the IAEH website. 
IAEH members have made this guidance openly available and recommend that all research assessing impacts of major events aligns with it.

IAEH and UK Sport worked in partnership to offer IAEH members a knowledge sharing opportunity in London on 13th and 14th December. The programme included a members' meeting with discussion on Glasgow and Berlin's experiences of co-hosting the 2018 European Championships, tours of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the Track Cycling World Cup, and guest speakers' presentations on legacy of major events and on the UK Sport's strategy towards international sporting events. 

Following Aarhus 2017 and Bangkok 2018, the 2019 IAEH Annual Forum will take place alongside SportAccord in Gold Coast, Australia on 6th May. The programme includes the Annual General Meeting of the membership and an open networking activity. Official invitations will be sent out in the new year.
