"2018 has been another exceptional year for tourism on the Sunshine Coast with visitation reaching an all-time high. Media coverage of the region has also been in big demand; in 2018 we hosted over 50 journalists and influencers resulting in over 300+ travel articles and 200 million impressions. This is good news for the growth and development of our tourism industry, but it has come with it own set of challenges as we begin to recognize our increasing infrastructure needs to service and sustain this growing part of our economy.
From new Provincial short term rental regulations, cannabis legalization, to new hotel developments and new cycling routes, the changes has been constant. In 2019, more changes are on the way with the expanding construction at the Langdale ferry terminal to new ride-hailing legislation anticipated in the fall. For the coming new year, Sunshine Coast Tourism has many exciting projects in the works including a comprehensive Regional Visitor Services strategy, enhanced Google My Business listings support for members, and a cutting-edge data-driven digital marketing campaign to drive visitation during our Spring shoulder season.

Gibsons Visitor Centre Brochure Racking
As of January 1, 2019, the Gibsons Visitor Centre will offer the racking at the following rates:
- Sunshine Coast Tourism Members: $75 + GST annually
- Gibsons Chamber Members: $125 + GST annually
- Non-members: $200 + GST annually
- Non-Profits – SCT Members: $50 + GST annually
- Non-Profits – Non-member: $125 + GST annually
Fees will be based on 1-Year of racking a traditional 4" x 9" brochure from the time both payment and materials are received. For questions, please email: wendy@sunshinecoastcanada.com

Packages, Festivals & Event Partnerships
Is your business offering a package or special this winter? Tell us about it to help get the word out to potential customers!
We will be posting information about package deals on social media, in our 5000+ subscriber consumer e-newletters, on our website, and more. If your business is partnering with another business or event to offer a package, send us the details. Here are some examples of what we are looking for:
- Accommodation & festival packages (example, is your hotel offering a package with Powell River Film Festival tickets?)
- Play & Stay packages (example: snowshoeing tours, fishing charters, hiking tours, bike rentals, etc., combined with an accommodation stay?)
- Restaurant deals (example: "Show us your ticket stub from the Sunshine Coast Craft Beer festival and save 10% the weekend of the event!")

Consumer Travel Shows
As 2019 approaches, we are preparing for our attendance at the following consumer travel shows: the Vancouver & Calgary Outdoor Adventure and Travel Shows, and the Seattle Travel & Adventure Expo.
If you would like to partner with us and join our booth for any of these events, please see the contact details below.
As an exhibitor, we will be representing the entire Sunshine Coast as a travel destination. We provide the booth display and staffing, and include excellent visuals and video screens to display images, maps, and video of the Sunshine Coast.
As a member, we would love for you to participate. As you can imagine, there is limited spacing, so we are offering this to our members on a first come, first serve basis.
- Rack fee - $75 for 1 show, + $40 each additional show- Up to 200 rack cards/brochures on display, with SCT staff helping distribute to show attendees
- Level 1 - $175 for 1 show, + $60 each additional show- Up to 400 brochures, 8 images on slide show screen, opportunity for 1 business representative to attend 1 shift to promote your individual business
- Level 2 - $300 for 1 show, + $75 each additional show - Unlimited brochures, business cards, 12 images on slide show, opportunity for 1 business representative to attend the whole show
