Latest Updates For December 2018
State of our Region - Sunshine Coast has the recipe for success 
The Sunshine Coast continues to deliver the right ingredients for a healthy, smart, creative region according to Mayor Mark Jamieson, who delivered his annual State of our Region address earlier this month. Mayor Jamieson said the Sunshine Coast was being positioned as distinct from the rest of South-East Queensland and connected to the world.

Mayor Jamieson said the latest economic data showed the region’s annual employment growth of 5.3% was well ahead of the State’s at 3.6%. Other highlights of the year included the success of the Sunshine Coast Solar Farm, the launching of a 20-year arts plan, record tourism figures and an investment of $7 million to add 405 hectares of environmental land to our conservation estate.  Take a look at the video below for more details.
Business confidence remains high on Sunshine Coast
The results are in and business confidence is high! 83% of Sunshine Coast business survey respondents say they expect their business to perform the same or much stronger over the next six months. What a great reflection of the positive business outlook here on the Sunshine Coast.  Visit Boardroom business for the complete full report.
Business travel packages

The Major Events team will be working to focus on travel packaging and group sales for a range of events across the region to help encourage more visitation to our premier events. We’d love to speak to any local businesses that have the capacity to work with event organisers to provide coordination and packaging of travel options for interstate and international consumers. If this sounds like you please get in contact with the Economic Development Team.
