Christmas 2018

Track Santa over Oxfordshire

Yes, it’s back as per tradition*. Just like last year, Santa (cough - the International Space Station - cough) is set to cross the UK at around 7:30am on Christmas Eve as the big man presumably gets an early start on things before all that sherry starts to add additional loo stops. Assuming the weather's clear (a big if) you should be able to see him zoom across the sky.

But what if it’s cloudy we hear you cry? Don’t worry you can also follow his journey thanks to NORAD of all people.
*Not an old tradition, admittedly but you have to start somewhere.

You are Recycling Champions. Well done you!

Oxfordshire has been named the top county in England for recycling. Not only the highest proportion of waste which is reused and recycled but the lowest amount of general waste produced per household. Very well done!
While we're on the topic, here's all the info you need on bin collections over the festive period.

Plus we’ve got helpful tips here for having a ‘green’ christmas.

No non-essential Roadworks over Christmas

We’re not all equipped with flying reindeer (and the only person who is only uses it once a year) so we’ve shut down all non-essential roadworks over the Christmas period. And while they’re not elves, we’ll have a team on through the Christmas period monitoring the traffic cameras on the big screen.
That's quite enough from us.

We'll be back in the New Year with the inevitable detoxing tips and job opportunities but for now have a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2019.
