Adult Education
Meeting Report

From Rabbi Andrea:
About 10 of us attended the Adult Ed meeting Dec 13.  The snacks were great! It was fun to meet everyone and hear about what people had in mind.  Here is my read-out of the follow up:

There is a cluster of folks at or near beginning Hebrew who will continue to work together to learn letters, decoding and reading fluency.  This class will meet at 6:00PM on Thursdays for 45 minutes. (Ryan, Justin, Rhonda, Anne, Jan & Andrea instructing)

There is a cluster of folks who are building Hebrew vocabulary and literacy.  This group will pick a text and learn together on Thursdays starting at 6:45. (This group will be on break, Jan 24-Feb 14) (Andrea, Anne and/or Jan instructing)

January 24-February 14: Rabbi Andrea will be teaching an adult ed class (in English) on Tikkun Olam: The Why and How of Jewish Social Justice Engagement. A fee is requested from not-yet-members of $15 per class and $45 for the set. Space is limited. Details to follow.

There are a few other folks who wish to build up their familiarity with classical Jewish literature and practice. The exact shape and content of this group (in English) is not yet clear.  Some of the people who are interested but could not attend the meeting may also be interested in this approach so all hope is not yet lost! Write me or show up Thursday at 7:30 and we will see if we have a cluster of learners.

We are planning to meet this Thursday, Dec 20, skip Dec 27 and meet up again January 3.  The cost of these classes is covered thru February. We may need to request a fee or donation for non-members after that time.

Regards and thanks for sharing your interest.
