Of all the most popular bands of the classic rock era, one of the most distinctive sounds belongs to the band Kansas. One of the reasons is Robby Steinhardt, the classically trained violinist who chose rock over Rachmaninoff. His unmistakable sound and distinctive singing voice has earned him a place in rock history. But a recent health scare nearly made history of him.

In a pool filled with former high school, college and even Olympic athletes, an unlikely relay team stood out at the Rowdy Gaines Masters Classic. With a combined age of more than 360, John Corse, Ed Graves, Betty Lorenzi and Joan Campbell had the chance to smash two things: a world record and expectations for what 80- and 90-year-olds can do. Every stroke inspired people to start Growing Bolder!

Annie Peters has had a hard life, but at the age of 98, she still works, still lives alone and she still drives her car. And she still loves life as much as ever. She shares her extraordinary life journey with us, from washing dishes for the legendary writer Zora Neale Hurston to surviving decades without her husband to giving back to her fellow residents in Eatonville, Florida, the historic African-American town she so dearly loves.

Senator John McCain was 81 when he died from cancer in August. He once said: "I have often observed that I am the luckiest person on Earth," despite some incredible obstacles fought overseas and at home. You've seen the long list of his accomplishments and service. But you may not know this story, from a fellow Vietnam War POW who served in a cell next to the future senator.

Of all the rock stars of the ‘70s, few are as recognizable as Ian Anderson -- the face of the band Jethro Tull. An extended conversation with him is rare, yet always memorable, especially when he takes on the topic of age, something he says he’s been exploring since Jethro Tull’s very beginning.

In 2018, we paid tribute to Harriett Lake, who started steadily giving away her entire fortune since 2004, distributing millions of dollars each year to dozens of charities. Harriett died in 2018, at the age of 96, but her colorful personality (and her incredibly closet!) will never be forgotten.

2018 marked a brand new chapter in what we believe is one of the most inspiring stories in motorsports and a victory lap for dreamers everywhere. Growing Bolder Medical Director Dr. Robert Masson and his son, Kyle, returned for another season of prototype racing, and took a victory lap for dreamers everywhere.

As the number of World War II veterans continues to dwindle, learning what we can from them becomes more important. The African Americans who became known as the Tuskegee Airmen proved to be among the most inspiring. At 95, Richard Hall shared his thoughts, his memories and wisdom about war and life.
