Thank You To All Of Our Donors Who Have So Generously Supported Us in 2018!

The children of Grace Orphanage say "Thank You" for the first home that has been constructed on the new site, a visible sign of hope for a brighter future!
Give The Gift Of Hope This Christmas!
As we approach the Christmas season, we hope you will consider supporting Grace Orphanage as a part of your giving plan for 2018, touching the lives of 35 war orphans seeking a better future. From now until the end of the year, we have campaigns running where you can sponsor:

The Journey Towards Self-Sustainability
The children and staff of Grace Orphanage recently enjoyed their visit to the new orphanage site where they harvested 8 sacks of corn from the fertile grounds of the agricultural area. After some time in the sun, this corn will be processed into corn flour, then used to make Ugali, which is a staple of the Congolese diet.
The pig project continues to provide a source of income for the Orphanage and an important learning tool for the children, providing valuable lessons about agriculture, entrepreneurship and responsibility.
These initiatives are just the beginning as Grace Orphanage works towards one day being fully self-sustainable.
Fiscal Responsibility
We commit to keeping our fundraising expenses to a minimum and will ensure that your donations make it to the children. IWOF is 100% volunteer run.
Still To Fund...
There has been significant progress on the development of the new facility since the start of 2017, including:
the final payment that was made for the land which will become the long-term home for Grace Orphanage;
the agriculture area was fenced and the first crop of cabbage and wild spinach was harvested;
the guardhouse was constructed;
the first small house for 10 children was completed;
now the security wall necessary to keep the children and the facilities protected for years to come is under construction.
However, there is still a long way to go on our journey towards completion of the facility to house up to 60 orphans and ultimately, self-sufficiency for the orphanage.
With your continued support over the coming months, the security wall will be completed and 5 more children's homes will be constructed. This will pave the way for the transition from the temporary housing situation, which you have so graciously supported. A Reading Centre will be the next project that will benefit not only the children on site but also the widows and orphans of the immediate community. The centre will be used to teach basic literacy and give hope to these extremely poor neighbours.
