Who Loves a Party? The Auction Needs You!

Save the date for the Spring Auction on Saturday, March 16 from 5-10 pm at Pomeroy Recreation & Rehabilitation Center. This year marks our fourth consecutive evening auction and it gets better each year. It's is a super-fun, adults-only gala with food, beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, dessert, music, a raffle, and hundreds of amazing deals and offerings donated by popular businesses and Lakeshore community members. Check out last year’s catalog at http://bit.ly/lsa18cat (PDF).

To have fantastic items to auction off, planning starts now. The auction team needs immediate help with soliciting donations. It’s easier than you think!
  1. Download this request letter
  2. If your favorite local business is not yet on our list, give them the form and ask them if they will support us with a gift card or donated item
  3. Tell the auction team at http://bit.ly/lsa-donate so we know who has been asked
Everything you need to solicit is at http://bit.ly/lsa-sol.

We also need help with decor, food, drinks, and more. Visit http://bit.ly/lsa-vol to learn more, then sign up online at http://bit.ly/ls19asignup or email pta-auction@LakeshoreElementary.org to help.

Don't want to ask others? Make your own donation. Past Lakeshore community donations include homemade gourmet cookies for six months, oil change services, an art party for six kids, the “Gravy Train” (six home-cooked meals for four delivered to your door), kids’ hike for six, private planetarium show at SFSU, two rounds of golf at the Olympic Club, two nights in a Lake Tahoe condo, Fire Marshal for the Day, many experiences with Lakeshore teachers, and much more!

Please support the auction, which needs to raise 25% of our budget so we don’t lose the surplus gained during the Annual Giving Campaign. Thank you!
Child Safety Presentation by Safe & Sound:
Tuesday, Jan. 15 (6-7pm)

Lakeshore invites parents to attend an important training by Will Roy of the local organization Safe & Sound. Mr. Roy will teach parents and guardians essential skills to protect children from sexual abuse.

The training will complement the short series of Child Safety Awareness lessons that Safe & Sound will present to students in January (grades K-2) and February (grades 3-5). (More info will be sent home about the lessons as the dates approach).

More info from the presenter: "We go into 3 ways to prevent sexual abuse. 1) Educate ourselves about indicators of abuse so we know what to look for. 2) Communication - how to start having age-appropriate conversations with your children about the prevention of sexual abuse. 3) Taking action - what you can do if you suspect abuse and how you can minimize risk as a parent."

Please RSVP here so our presenter has an accurate headcount. Thank you!

Lakeshore Library Wishlist
We have created an Amazon Wishlist that will help support our students.
Shop for Our Library
Click above or visit http://a.co/iemkQMw to support our library.

Many of the books on the wishlist are high interest books that we cannot purchase from our library vendor, or books that have been requested by students or teachers that we’d love as soon as possible. The Lakeshore library only has a one-time order through the district that usually arrives in late January, but there are so many new books we’d love to read before that! Also, to comply with library durability standards, all books must be in hardcover or library binding format. Thank you for your support!
