As promised, here's our last newsletter for 2018.
GeoBeer #25 with KKGEO-CCGEO
We're busy planning GeoBeer #25 on January 31st in Bern with our newest host and sponsor, KKGEO-CCGEO. For those of you not yet in the know: KKGEO-CCGEO is the Conference of Cantonal Geoinformation Offices whose main tasks are to ensure a coordinated representation of the interests of the cantons in geoinformation, interdisciplinary exchange of experience and the use of synergies.
As soon as we'll have completed setting up the registration page, it's gonna be public under our Ti.to profile. Registration for GeoBeer #25 will open on MON, January 7th from 19:00 o'clock (7 pm). Can't hurt marking this in your calendar already. But either way: no worries, we'll send you a reminder a few days in advance.
Change is constant
The new year shall also bring a major change. Stephan and I have been organising GeoBeer-s since March 2013. Crazy, isn't it. For example, after Techup and Eventbrite we're currently on our third ticketing platform and we're using, I think, the fourth version of our logo. Omnia mutant, doesn't it (or for Latin speakers: "don't they")!
All this time, it's been a blast with all of you coming to the events and spending time with each other! We love doing this – and we shall also continue to do so for the foreseeable future (hey, 2019 looks fully booked after all!).
But of course, organising GeoBeer-s also makes a not huge, but still noticeable dent in our spare time (as that's when we organise them). And bringing in another perspective and fresh ideas has certainly been good to many another organisation before us. Thus, and for additional reasons too numerous to list, we're super excited that starting January 2019, Anne Wegmann will join the GeoBeer team! If you haven't met her already, e.g. during <cough> a GeoBeer <cough>, come to our next events and get introduced. And/or follow Anne on our platform of origin, Twitter.

That said, we want to wish each and every one of you a merry christmas, happy holidays and a fantastic start into an exciting 2019! We hope you can take some time and spend it with your loved ones, reflect on what has hopefully been a good year for yourself – and who knows, maybe, if we're lucky, a GeoBeer moment makes it into your 2018 happy moments highlight reel! (in which case, let us know) ;-)
