Highlights from the Global Landscapes Forum in Bonn 2018
Dear Reader,
The New Year has started. But before plowing ahead, we want to take a moment to look back, acknowledge and celebrate the year 2018.
We have been working with many inspiring forest projects all around the world, which has strengthened our belief that there are many ways and opportunities to care for our forest landscapes!
Some of these outstanding projects are run by:
Fairventures Worldwide
Komaza
WeForest
BioCarbon Partners
RUNA Foundation
and many more ...
For us, the highlight of 2018 was the official launch event of the explorer.land platform at the Global Landscapes Forum. We want to thank the entire team for their incredible work in building this powerful map-based storytelling tool!
Further, we welcome the first active users of explorer.land. The feedback has been incredibly positive. This is very motivating. Thank you very much.

Interview in Mongabay
OpenForests' CEO Alexander Watson spoke with Mongabay.com ahead of his appearance at the Global Landscape Forum in Bonn, Germany where he presented.
Alexander Watson highlighted, with the use of an active case study, how visualization and storytelling can help projects generate attention, create engagement and encourage collaboration with a broad group of stakeholders such as governments, funding organizations, NGOs and the public.
In his workshop, Dr. Patrick Ribeiro explained and discussed technical solutions to crafting and communicating project stories with the help of interactive maps and multi-media content.
