‘Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.’

Hebrews 13:8

At this point in the year, many CUs are preparing to change leadership. They will prayerfully be considering who should take up each role to inspire the CU for mission and continue co-ordinating their gospel work. Some CUs take this opportunity to implement a structural change or create a new committee position.

Let’s ask God to provide wisdom, and for deepening discernment and faith for those making these decisions.

SUN 14
Lift Chester CU to the Lord as they transition into new leadership. Pray also that they find someone to step into the role of evangelistic co-ordinator this year, after it remained unfilled last year.

MON 15
Cardiff CU had 11 members this year, but they are considering reducing the size of the committee to help streamline their decision making. Please pray that they would be motivated by God’s grace as they make these choices.

TUE 16
‘Please pray for God’s sovereign hand to be over the election process, as we seek to ensure Brunel CU has suitable leadership. Pray especially as they seek to add an international secretary to their committee, and face the challenge of many students going on placement years.’ – Stephen Fraser, CU Staff Worker in the Central region

WED 17
Queen Margaret University CU (Scotland) have created a new role: Uncover Mark co-ordinator. This is an attempt to change the culture of the CU and encourage members to read God’s Word with their friends. Let’s pray the student who takes up this position will be given wisdom as they develop it.

THU 18
Please pray for the smaller CUs in Wales as they ask the Lord to provide new leaders. Pray that Cardiff School of Art and Design CU in particular would trust in God to help them make disciples of Christ on campus.

FRI 19
Harry is the current Southbank CU (London) president and will continue to lead the CU next year. Let’s pray that he is strengthened in the role and receives many mission minded students to come alongside him.

SAT 20
Let’s pray for the Theology Network hubs across the UK, as they consider who best to take over leadership of these groups. Give thanks for their work this year and pray for wisdom as they plan for the future.

SUN 21
Please pray that the Lord would guide Glasgow CU as leaders are selected. Pray that the new committee would be an example of unity to the wider mission team, and that they would grow in their eagerness for evangelism.

MON 22
‘Please ask God to provide three keen and mature students to lead Luton CU this year, and to give them good relationships with each other. Ask the Lord to enable us to work well with the Student Union.’ – Mike Hood, CU Staff Worker in the Central region

TUE 23
Many strong and committed third and fourth year students at York St John CU are about to graduate, leaving a keen but younger group of students to lead the CU. Let’s pray that they would continue to grow in their faith and are able to inspire the wider mission team for evangelism.

WED 24
Southampton CU are changing the structure of their committee and recruiting for a publicity officer. Please pray that this enables the CU to effectively advertise events and create a large presence on campus as they seek to reach students with the gospel.

THU 25
50 Exeter CU leaders will hand over their positions to new students this term, including committee roles, hall group representatives, ministry leaders and others. Let’s pray that these leaders would all be inspired for evangelism and rooted in Christ.

FRI 26
In an effort to better co-ordinate their outreach, Cambridge Inter-Collegiate CU intend to create the new role of external vice-president. This student will set the tone and vision for mission and organise their mission week. Pray that God would work through this to glorify Himself.

SAT 27
Praise God that Wolverhampton CU has grown this year and have several students willing to step into leadership positions. Pray for unity as these decisions are made and a new committee forms.
