PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear EGRHS Families,
Welcome to second semester! I hope you all had an enjoyable Holiday break filled with family and friends. I would like to take a moment to thank our Student Council and you for your support of our annual food drive this past December. Through your support and the coordination of Arbor Circle, we were able to provide meals and fill the pantries of 35 families in need within Kent County. Additionally, during the month of December our Spanish Club donated almost $1,000 in books for children and their families with funds generated from several student organized fundraisers. Thanks to all for your generous donations!
Tonight, we kick off our second semester by hosting a special event for 9th and 10th grade parents and students who are interested in learning more about our IB Diploma Programme (IB DP). At 7:00 pm in our Little Auditorium, our IB Graduates will be reflecting on their IB DP experience and how it helped prepare them for their freshman year in college. I hope this opportunity helps you learn more about our IB DP.
East Grand Rapids Public Schools invites parents and community members to attend an informative presentation by Officer Jermaine Galloway, also known as “Tall Cop,” regarding the risks and dangers of youth substance abuse. The EGRHS Robotics team officially started their competitive season this past Saturday with the reveal of the 2019 game format. This year’s theme is titled “Destination Deep Space” and is sponsored by the Boeing Company. We currently have 25 students, three coaches, and eight mentors supporting the team. The clock is on as Team 5980 has 45 days to build their robot.
Please note that first semester grades will be available on Friday, January 11, 2019.
Go East!
