Highlights from our December B Learning Lunch

with BW White, Oregon Development Manager, Social Justice Fund Northwest
December 13, 2018 at Hopworks
At our December B Learning lunch, we heard from BW White, the Oregon Development Manager at Social Justice Fund Northwest. BW co-facilitates Giving Projects as well as development and fundraising for SJF. The organization is a foundation funding frontline community organizing in a five-state region through a unique model called Giving Projects. SJF is part of a giving ecosystem that plants and nurtures the seeds of social change. SJF funds grassroots community organizing, which they define as “the process of building leadership and collective power to make long term change.” They operate from the conviction that a better world is possible but only if we do it together.

B Corp Pop-Up Store Opens at the Lloyd Center

Holiday shoppers in Portland are getting a new concept store to purchase their gifts from this year: a B Corp™ Store, the first of its kind in the world. The initiative to open the store is led by Grapevine Outdoor, a local out-of-home advertising provider that decided to open the pop-up shop inside of Lloyd Center Mall, as part of the Lloyd Local Initiative. The store is officially called the Certified B Corporation® Store (though visitors might hear ‘B Store’ for short), and it’s a store that showcases and sells products sourced exclusively from Certified B Corporation® companies.

10% of profits from the B Corp™ Store will go to B Local PDX, and employees of Certified B Corps can also enjoy 10% off their entire purchase!

The B Corp™ Store will be open:
Thursday – Sunday in 2018 from 10am-10pm
923 NE Lloyd Ctr, C-118
First Floor, West Wing
