Have you ever thought that there are those who celebrate the birthday of a person they do not know? If you think about it, it is rather strange, isn’t it?
But that is what happens at Christmas. It’s all about the celebration of the birth of Christ the Savior but there are many that like Christmas but do not know or like Jesus the Savior and there are many who know about the reason for the “Holiday Season” but refuse to recognize that Jesus isGod and is the reason for Christmas.
Luke 2:11 “A Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”
Let’s remember that Christmas is a time for giving. Giving of not only a gift because that is the easy thing about Christmas. These days you can give a gift without leaving home, finding many bargins from on-line shopping.
The greatest gift to give is your forgiveness to someone that has offended you during 2018.
Pastor Mac Brunson wrote in a Twitter recently, “What did God do at Bethlehem? He gave. What did Jesus do at Calvary? He gave. What did the Holy Spirit do at Pentecost? He gave. What will you do this Christmas?”
Important point
IT WOULD BE HYPOCRITICAL TO GIVE GIFTS BUT NOT GIVE FORGIVENESS TO THOSE WHO NEED YOUR FORGIVENESS
Yes, Christmas is for giving gifts, but it is also to REMEMBER JESUS, THE GREAT FORGIVER. Christmas is to remember that you and I have been given Jesus the Savior who has given us forgiveness so you and I may give that same forgiveness to others.
2 Corinthians 9:15 says: “Thank God for His Son....His Gift too wonderful for words....Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”
How do you describe our savior?
How do you describe Jesus who has all knowledge when you and I have limited knowledge? How do you describe Jesus who is all-powerful when we are always weak? How do you describe Jesus who is always truthful and honest and pure and holy when we who try to describe Him....are sinful? What words do you choose?
I can’t. My words are not adequate....thebest words would be from the Bible.... 2 Corinthians 9:15 “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.”
Praise God for His wonderful gift, Jesus the Savior.
Judi and I send you Christmas greetings and our love and best wishes for a joyful New Year, 2019.
In Christ,
