Suffolk Project in Aquaculture Training
BEFORE
Well SPATsters, we are approaching the end of another year and I just wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday season and a special New Year. We certainly have come a long way since our humble beginnings in 2000. SPAT continues to grow and thrive and I am continuously in awe with our community and the dedication that is poured on this program. A perfect example is all of the help and attendance at the 7th annual Shellabration, which sold out for the 2nd year in a row. Without sounding like a doting grandparent, I am extremely proud of my SPAT family, which indeed we are. We all look out for each other, expect greatness from each other, care and respect each other. I can’t think of another group that is as productive, engaged and meaningful as ours. I was planning on getting all of us matching Speedos with Team SPAT embroidered on them but changed my mind (I looked at myself in the mirror). But even without the uniform, we are really quite a team, and we have an exciting future. SPAT is going into 2019 with a new workshop, a new algae system, and upgrades to our culture facilities and a budget surplus so we are on solid ground (when not in the water). I look forward to seeing everyone next year and encourage any suggestions, dreams, wants, needs that will allow us to constantly grow and improve. My only warning to you is, don’t eat to much this holiday break, we need you firm and fit for all the activity that is heading our way. What can I say, I can’t thank all of you enough for making SPAT such a great endeavor in my life, I am honored to know and work with all of you.

Happy, Happy and Happy, Kim
