This week, a friend of mine reached out to me and asked if I have any favorite holiday apps.

I have a stocking full of apps on my iPad, but I didn't have one app specifically for the holidays.

So, I decided to do some research to see what was available.

I'm sure you are not surprised to hear this, but there are many Christmas Holiday apps available for your iOS device.

While researching, I came across some real good web sites offering their favorite Christmas Holiday apps. I've shared some of them below for you to explore, along with some of the apps these sites featured.

Keep in mind, I am not affiliated with these apps or web sites in any way. I'm just sharing what I discovered.

This app is not really built specifically for Christmas, but it will give you the best ideas for Christmas gifts and then link you directly to where you can find these gifts so you can buy them instantly. The app is really useful if you’re running short of time and would want to do some really quick shopping for gifts. The app is also particularly useful if you don’t know where to start with gift ideas this Christmas.

Give a huge surprise to your kids by letting them have a personalized call with Santa Claus. Your child will enjoy the sweet talk with Santa, which calls for a number of reasons. It also mentions your kid’s name, age, and interests during the call.

How to download Christmas Apps to Your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch

The Apple App Store offers a great selection of Christmas Holiday apps, offering everything from holiday music and games to greeting cards. No, these apps are not delivered by Santa, but they are a fun and festive addition to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch this holiday season.

Searching and Downloading Apps from the Apple App Store

1. Tap and open the App Store app on your iOS device.
2. Tap the magnify glass icon at the bottom of the screen.
3. In the search text box, type in your holiday search word(s), and tap Search.
4. Swipe through the results.
5. To read more about an app, see screen shots and animated images, and see app reviews, simply tap on the App's icon.
6. When you find an app of interest, tap Get or the Price to begin the download process.
   • Your downloaded app will appear on your device's home screen.

NOTE: Keep in mind, many of the "Free" apps do require in-app purchases for access to all features.
 

 

Checking Out App Categories in the Apple App Store

1. Tap and open the App Store app on your iOS device.
2. Tap the Apps tab icon at the bottom of the screen.
3. Swipe through the page to find a category that best fits what you are looking for.
   • Notice in the image below, a Holly Jolly Holidays category is displayed.
4. Swipe right and left through the category to see featured apps or tap See All to see all apps in that category.
