A MESSAGE FROM THE PTO PRESIDENT

I hope everyone enjoyed the snow days last week. It was pretty and fun for a while, but I was happy to have school back in session by Thursday! Between snow and all the excitement of the approaching Winter Break, I am always amazed at the energy and time our teachers and parent volunteers give to keep the final days of the calendar year productive and celebratory! Thank you all.

A few quick updates:
- Minutes from our 12.2 PTO meeting are being posted to www.vlmpto.org
- Next PTO meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 8 at 7:30pm at Murray Library
- Reminder there is a 1/2 day for students on January 18
- PTO Committee Chairs, please remember to prepare your position summary and send to me. We will start looking for 2019-2020 PTO council soon and these will be helpful.

A big thanks to everyone for a great 2018. Enjoy some time with loved ones and stay safe, warm and welcoming!

Lindley Stakem
PTO President

FALL FUND DRIVE

This week marks not only the end of school days for 2018, but also the last week of our Fall Fund Drive. On behalf of the PTO, students and faculty, THANK YOU!! You all pulled off a great fund drive at $24,150 so far, which means we can continue to provide the amazing programs, resources and outreach for our school - and maybe a bit more this year!

If you have not donated, and still want to, it is not too late for your tax-deductible donation. As a reminder, our goal of $20k was set based on every child giving $75, not per family.

Some of the projects in spring we are evaluating for funding are:
- best use of the back walk and garden area
- possibly replacing weathered storage shed in parking lot
- purchasing gym/classroom playground balls and storage (these are frequently worn out, popped, or caught on the roof)

Thanks to you, we can keeping making Murray 'a great place to grow'.
