ANNOUNCING!

Weight Loss One Day Immersion
January 26, 2019 - Chicago

With the New Year approaching, millions of people across the country are turning their thoughts to New Year's Resolutions ... and historically, one of the most popular resolutions is "I'm going to lose weight!" And while, frankly, rarely does that resolution include the word "healthily", we're determined to reset that resolution and rephrase it to focus attention on HEALTH.

Presented by Cardiologist, Dr Steven Lome of Rush Copley Cardiovascular, Dr Lome's own FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE with obesity puts him in a great position to discuss this topic! Having experienced his own struggles with weight and the misinformation that leads millions of Americans each year down the path of pills, fad diets, and the misconception that they can "outrun bad food," he's in the unique position to share his own experiences with "trusting" poor quality information (some from the USDA, no less!) and eventually finding a path that led, not only to weight loss, but to vastly improving health outcomes as well!

This Immersion will be an all day event and will include a fabulous, HEALTHY Lunch provided by the talented kitchen staff at Uncommon Ground, Lecture on Weight Loss (how we get trapped in the never-ending cycle of fad diets and quick-fixes that lead us to unhealthy losses following by gains, often of more than we originally lost, and a continuing cycle of frustration), and Q&A, among other things.

For DETAILED Information and Registration instructions, please visit our Immersion Page on our website.

WELCOME - PBNM TAMPA!!!!

With barely 6 months under our belt, we must admit that we've been overwhelmed (in a GOOD way) by the outpouring of interest from both physicians and community members looking to expand our vision for plant based nutrition information and support into other areas. What has been particularly gratifying is the extraordinary calibre of people expressing that interest. We'd like to introduce you to Interventional Cardiologist, Dr Koushik Reddy of the Department of Veterans Affairs in Tampa, FL. On his lab coat reads "Carrot or Stent - You Pick!" With already an outstanding Board of Directors set up, we are thrilled to Welcome our very first PBNM Chapter!

To introduce you to Dr Reddy, we invite you to listen to the
interview he did with Ian Cramer.

HEALTHY HOLIDAY POTLUCK 2018

With sub-freezing temps, we were delighted to welcome roughly 100 guests for our first annual Healthy Holiday Potluck! OMG! The food was DELICIOUS, and many of the participants graciously provided ingredient lists, if not full blown recipes. We promised we'd get them out to everyone who completed the guest forms at the event, and we have not forgotten! The WILL be coming!!!!

We'd like to especially thank Silvia Abel-Caines of Organic Valley Coop and Gabriel Bardan of Wellspring Church, without whose generosity and hard work we would not have had this wonderful venue for this fabulous event! All of the feedback we've received has been outstanding!
PBNM Groups Getting Organized!

We know one of the challenges people face when adopting (or even THINKING about adopting) a plant based lifestyle is that often they feel a bit stranded without a paddle. Who can they talk to when they have a question, need a quick recipe or "how to", or just looking for suggestions about where to go to eat, what about holiday foods, what about "ingredient replacements?" Sometimes it's the little things that can derail us, so we want to help you stay on track!

Our intent is to have a number of PBNM Groups established around the Chicagoland Area, Are you passionate about the plant based lifestyle and want to share your enthusiasm and knowledge with others?  Let us know and we'll help you start a PBNM Group. These groups can be large or small to begin with, but will likely grow over time! If interested, drop us a line at info@pbnm.org and let's connect!
Volunteer Cooking Instructors Wanted!!

Volunteer "Community Chefs", professional or amateur, are needed to conduct our Cooking Classes around the Chicago area teaching folks how to make simple recipes that are healthy, whole food plant based, tasty, and require NO OIL We will provide training and resources, and help secure venues if you need them.

To help insure a "standard of excellence", we are developing a PBNM Cooking Instructor Certification program with guidelines for instructors to follow to insure high quality and consistency in our cooking classes. TRAINING WILL BEGIN EARLY IN 2019! For information, please go to the inquiry form on our website.
Be sure to Bookmark our Events section on your device so you can always know what's coming up!

Here's what's Scheduled for the
Near future!
Intensive PBNM Immersion Programs Being Scheduled

No one develops a chronic disease overnight, and while documentaries, videos, seminars, etc., are great options to help inform us as the the existence of a problem, even to educate us a bit on where or how it originated, there are times when we need a bit more of a "deep dive" to determine its impact on us and what we might do to either protect ourselves from it or even to halt or perhaps reverse the disease once we've been affected.

PBNM is in the process of developing special "Immersion" programs to address a wide variety of health issues.  These include, but are not limited to:
  • Heart Disease
  • Diabetes
  • Autoimmune Disease
  • Brain Health
  • Weight Loss
  • Raising Healthy Children
  • Athletic Performance
  • Nutrition
