Two Baptisms!!
Tykeshia Blackmon (left) and Victoria Washington (right)

We are excited to report that Tykeshia Blackmon and Victoria Washington were baptized on Sunday, Dec. 9 -- in an outdoor pool in 38 degree weather, no less!

Tykeshia was met by Devantia Jordan on the Auburn campus where she works. Noticing Devantia was different from the other young men on campus, Tykeshia was curious to know more about who he was.  Later, Devantia invited her out to a Bible talk.  Then she came out to midweek and Markeya Thomas asked her to study the Bible.

"
Tykeshia was steadfast in reading her Bible, attending meetings with the body and being an absolute servant, " said Markeya .  "Studying the Bible with her has been an inspiration because she’s been a true student of God’s word.  When asked to read a certain book or verse for homework, she asked questions and wrote things down.  She’s an amazing mother.  Having her daughter Royalle around adds joy to our group. I’m excited to see where God takes her and Royalle in the future.  I’m grateful to call her my sister in Christ."

Victoria Washington is a sophomore at Auburn University.  "Victoria was eager since the first day someone reached out to her," Taylor Wilson related.  "She wanted to regain a stronger relationship with God and to find a church home.  She enthusiastically began studying on September 29th.  She always brought her binder and pencil to take notes, and had an inquisitive mind.  She attended the fall retreat and returned to studying afterwards with even more passion.  She began sacrificing old habits and had the willingness to stay up as long as it took  to go through more scriptures.  Victoria's heart can be seen in the eagerness she has to share her spiritual journey with friends and family.  The Auburn Campus Ministry is blessed to have an amazing zealous sister."

God has blessed the ATCC enormously in 2018, and this is such powerful evidence of His grace.  We are profoundly grateful.

MLK Service Project
Make plans now to help organize and volunteer for our service project in Tuskegee on the Martin Luther King holiday, Monday, January 21.  We will be working with the Alabama Rural Ministry to give a special party for children in Tuskegee.  See Nanyamka Foreman to volunteer, and for more information.
Congratulations to Christina Valeary on the baptism of her mom, Sandra D. Fernandez, on December 11.  Sandra began studying the Bible in September with members of our sister church in New Orleans.  She has had a wonderful spiritual journey, and her baptism reminds us to never stop praying for our family members!  We celebrate with Christina. Sandra is second from the left in the photo.
