Chip is having a makeover!

After many years of dutiful service Chip is looking a bit bedraggled and older than his years. He has decided to go for a holiday in the sun and have a bit of dentistry and beauty treatment while he is away. As a water-based mammal he doesn’t have pockets and therefore no wallet, he is awfully bad with money due to this. He has asked for our help to make this happen! We will be selling Chip’s Challenge Badges to raise funds for this. They are £1 each and have a series of fun challenges you can use for the Beavers, and anyone else who wants to, to earn them. They are available for pre-order from now and they will be available in January (with priority going to pre-orders).

Now we are not letting Chip have it all his own way, we have demanded that once he returns refreshed and looking good he wear his uniform when he is out and about, he is a Beaver after all! I hope we will all look forward to meeting him again soon.

4 Kingdoms 2018

We now have a few more details about the 4 Kingdoms visit. We will descend on the adventure park and farm on Saturday 4th May*.

The trip will be £8.50 per Beaver Scout with leaders going free (1:6 ratio free tickets) and additional adults and Young Leaders just £8.50 each too. Every attendee will get an exclusive badge which will make a matching series with other 2019 events including Picnic in the Park and Space Camp. Booking will open early January and payment is required by 27/03.

* The previously announced date of 27/04 is going to be the St Georges Day event for many districts including some of the local ones. If you cannot make the rearranged date we are able to honour bookings for the original date, let me know if you want to do this.

Space Camp 6-7 July 2019

The new booking system is now live at bvr.org.uk/spacecamp. Please visit and signup now to secure your places. Deposit of £10 per Beaver Scout is required within 3 weeks of booking.

Previously announced details below

Plans are progressing for our most exciting County Beaver Camp yet!
We have increased numbers on last year but still expect to sell out as there are only so many little adventurers that you can get up a climbing tower!
July 2019 sees the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing which seems a great thing to celebrate. Programme wise we will be similar to last year with every Beaver Scout getting Archery, Cooking, Climbing (or similar), Fun Zone, the Space Zone and more!
With the increased numbers we won’t be able to offer catering in the same way as last time. What we will be offering is a collection service where we will prepare your meals (Saturday Lunch, Dinner, Sunday Breakfast & Lunch) for you to take back to your site to eat. This will reduce the queuing as it will already be prepared per site and as you will be providing your own dining shelter or similar less waiting around. You will of course still be free to self cater.
We will also have another great goody bag and t-shirt available and the badge is going to be quite special!
The event will again be a 1 night camp for Beavers with the opportunity for Leaders to arrive on the Friday night to get everything set up (no Beavers Friday).
There are still a few details outstanding which mean I cannot yet confirm final pricing. I don’t anticipate a big rise on 2017 so hope to offer it at £45 per Beaver Scout fully catered and am sure I won’t have to go above £50. Leaders and Young Leaders attending will pay a substantially subsidised rate.
Now I know you are super keen to secure your places. I am offering the chance to reserve places for £10 per Beaver Scout. This will be non- refundable unless the event is cancelled or substantially altered. Final payment will be due late Spring.
