The Third Week of Advent - JOY!
The desert will bloom with abundant flowers and rejoice with joyful song. Rejoice in the Lord always! Shout for joy, O daughter Zion!
- Isaiah 35:1, Zephaniah 3:14  -

The Scriptures for the Third Sunday of Advent proclaim their message in no uncertain terms: Rejoice! Joy is all around us and our celebration of Advent calls us to discover it. The joy that the Scripture passages speak about is not a joy that equates with hilarious laughter. It is a joy that comes from a security with our God, those around us, and our place in the world. It is the joy Isaiah describes when he writes, "I rejoice heartily in the Lord, in my God is the joy of my soul." It is a joy that cannot be bought or obtained from artificial highs. It is a joy that comes from our living faith in a living God.

It is the joy we feel as we approach the birth of our Savior and remember the awesome beauty of what happened on that cold Bethlehem night.

Midterm exams for students in grades 7-12 will begin on Wednesday, December 19th and conclude on Friday, December 21st. Students in grades 7-12 will be dismissed from school at 12:05 PM on 12/19 and 12/20 and at 10:40 AM on 12/21. Please refer to the handout below for a detailed midterm exam schedule as well as midterm exam guidelines:

Please make note that the only excused reason to miss an exam is illness and this must be verified.  If a student does miss an exam due to a verified illness, the exam must be made up prior to return to school on January 7th
Lunch Accounts
A reminder that in order for a student to take their mid-term exams, all financial accounts must be in good standing, this includes lunch accounts.  Please check to make sure there is not money owed for lunch so that students do not run into complications this coming week.

Also, please check your weekly emails from FACTS as they send an email notice if your account is in arrears.  These email alerts are sent on the weekends.  Some parents have told us they thought it was Spam since it did not come from the school directly.
Thank You!
Thank you to all the families who have generously participated in this year's HALO Project sponsored by Catholic Charities.  Gifts will be hand delivered this week.  Thank you again for bringing love and kindness to our sponsored families this Christmas Season.
