As the year comes to a close, it’s an opportunity to reflect on what we have achieved together – from supporting adoption and spread of new products and pathways that benefit patients, to working with partner organisations to build improvement capability, to the successes of the vibrant clinical research community in our partnership.
It’s also a time to consider the opportunities and challenges in the year ahead. In a new blog, I reflect on the government’s second life sciences sector deal published earlier this month, and highlight how UCLPartners is contributing to national and local work with industry to make the UK a global leader in life sciences.
This month we’ve also shared news that the largest ever lung cancer screening project in the UK is to begin in our partnership early next year. This work will detect lung cancer earlier and support the development of a new blood test to detect multiple cancer types. A huge benefit for our population.
It’s been a privilege to work with our partner organisations and nationally on such a wide range of important work in 2018. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year.
