It is with deep sadness that I tell you my beloved and inspirational teacher Geeta S. Iyengar has suddenly passed away on Sunday, Dec 16. She was the embodiment of yoga. She lived for yoga and lived to teach yoga! She will be missed immensely by all.
Geeta and her brother Prashant just finished teaching a 10 Day Intensive to a group of 1200 Iyengar yoga enthusiasts from around the world in celebration of the 100th year of B.K.S. Iyengar's birth followed by two more days of just birthday celebrations. It was the morning after that she couldn't breathe well and took her last breath on the way to the hospital.
