C o m p a s s i o n

We thank God that over $103,000.00 has been donated to assist with the many personal and community needs caused by the Paradise Camp Fire.  100% of all contributions are being given to those who have been directly impacted by this tragic fire.  Over $50,000.00 has already been given to families who have lost their homes or been displaced, and to assist the Oroville evacuation center where at least 500 evacuees were housed.

We are also very grateful for the many churches who have volunteered at the Chico & Oroville evacuation centers, as well as to those who have provided donations of immediate and long term housing.  The Paradise Camp Fire Relief Fund will continue to be used for responding to the long term needs of the Paradise Community.  It is the intention of the Sacramento District to eventually relaunch our church in the Paradise Community, though it is anticipated that it will be several months before we are able to do so.  This week a Community Resource Center is being set up in the church to assist families with various supplies as they re enter and sift through their properties.  In addition to this, the church will also serve as a staging area for counseling services to people from the community impacted by the fire.

Thank you so much for your continued prayers for Pastor & Diana Tremain, their family, the congregation, and the thousands of community residents as they rebuild their lives.
Nazarene Compassionate Ministries for the Church of the Nazarene in the USA and Canada will be hosting a workshop on disaster response, focusing on earthquakes and wildfires.
The event will take place March 16, 2019 in the San Francisco Bay Area for church leaders who have a heart and calling to prepare for, respond to, and rehabilitate after a disaster.  The final details of location and time will be announced as soon as they are confirmed.
