The Ladder: Bones!

Saturday, January 12
1pm - 3pm

The ladder is a program to learn cool things about science and health careers for young people age 9-24 years old to learn about medicine, health careers, and ways to succeed in science! The event will take place at West County Health Center in San Pablo.

Latinx Center of Excellence Hosts Terapia Solidaria Workshop

Thursday February 21 from 9am - 4pm and Friday February 22 from 9am - 1pm; CSU East Bay Conference Center (1000 Broadway, Oakland)
 
This workshop will be presented in Spanish and will provide:
  • an overview of narrative therapy practice concepts as developed by Michael White and David Epston
  • an overview of Marcela Polanco's terapia solidaria
  • An opportunity to observe role-play demonstrations and practice in small groups

Alameda County Health Care Services Agency Emergency Medical Services (EMS) CORPS Program

Call for Spring 2019 Applications
Due January 21, 2019
The Alameda County Health Care Services Agency’s EMS Corps is accepting applications for a 5 month paid (stipend) program where participants will receive Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training, in depth life coaching and participate in community service events. This training will provide males with education through daily classes, turtoring, workshops, and internships on first responder skills. Participants will also gain personal skills enhancement through life coaching mentsorship support, public speaking opportunities, first responder health education at local events, and practice using leadership skills.

Summer Student Research Program


Call for Applications
Due February 22, 2019 - 4pm
The CHORI Summer Student Research Program is designed to provide an unsurpassed opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the world of basic and/or clinical research for three months during the summer. Students are paired with one or two CHORI principal investigators who serve as mentors, guiding the students through the design and testing of their own hypotheses and methodology development. At the end, students present their research to their peers just as any professional researcher would do.
