Happy New Year! As you make your New Year’s resolutions, challenge yourself to visit your local public library more often (diet and exercise not required). The library staff members are working hard to make 2019 a great year for our patrons. Spend some time with us and enjoy helping to complete a community jigsaw puzzle, try out a relaxing session of Seated Tai Chi, check out a New York Times Bestseller, play a game of chess or checkers with a friend, enjoy popcorn and a movie, or just hop on one of the many public-access computers we have available, to catch up on what is going on in the digital world.
Hot new books to warm you up in January:
Eggs On Ice by Laura Childs
The Bride of Ivy Green by Julie Klassen
The Other Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn
Silent Scream by Karen Harper

Want to learn how to play Mah Jongg? It is said that Mah Jongg is a great game for keeping the mind sharp. It is highly recommended as a means of keeping your brain in good health. I should clarify that thisisa the 4 player game (sometimes also played with 3 players) and not the solitaire version. A game of mahjong is an excellent mental workout. You ask what is Mah Jongg? Mah Jongg is a game of Chinese origin usually played by four persons with 144 domino like pieces or tiles marked in suits, counters, and dice. The object of the game is to build a winning combination of pieces. Sound interesting? Have questions? Think you might like to learn? Call the Chesterfield Library at 843-623-7489 or stop in and talk to Jane.
