Weekly Update

Just a reminder that we maintain a calendar of events on our website showing what's going on each week/month.  Here's what's on offer this weekend and in the weeks ahead for our current members (you can renew your membership here):

FRIDAY NIGHT DOUBLES - Join us at the Balboa Tennis Club for our first event of 2019! This week we will play out sets with your host Brian Wood. Sign ups begin at 6:00, courts are called at 6:50, and play begins at 7:00.

SUNDAY - TEAM TENNIS - Play resumes at Peninsula and San Diego High School locations. Check with your captain or Commissioner Jon Tyler for your time and location.

Here are some other things you'll want to know:

SDTF MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL - I hope everyone renewed their membership before the clock struck midnight on December 31. If not, you still won't want to miss out on another year of fun SDTF competition and activities. Activate your SDTF membership for for just $4/month ($48), plus the $12 initiation/renewal fee - renew here. If you have any questions, please contact your Membership Chair Octavio Ochoa.

TEAM TENNIS UPDATE - We're halfway through the season, and teams are jockeying for coveted playoff positions. Current division leaders are Fidel Rivera's Superheroes in the Billie Jean King Division and Michael Hubbard's Dog Pound in the Arthur Ashe Division. If you're not playing and just want to watch the competition, matches are played from 9:00 - 1:00 Sunday mornings at both San Diego High School and the Peninsula Tennis Club. All are welcome to watch the matches.

TEAM TENNIS ALTERNATES NEEDED: Commissioner Jon Tyler reminds all current SDTF members that you can be on the alternate roster for team tennis. Being an alternate makes you available to captains when they are looking for substitute players, and it's a fun way to play team tennis without a season-long commitment.
