Resolved: To Remember Sabbath Rest
A resolution is a firm commitment or decision to do or not do something. While many New Year's resolutions fail to effect lasting good, God's commands provide us with the best 'resolutions' that will effect good in our lives and bring glory to Him. God's command to remember the Sabbath addresses perhaps one of the greatest struggles in life: the balance of work and rest. Work is inherently good - though we experience labor and toil as a result of sin - but rest is also modeled for us and commanded to us by God. In this new year, we may do well by truly resolving to remember Sabbath rest. On Sunday, we will explore the godly pattern of rest, the glorious reasons for rest, and the good result and gospel end of rest.

January 6 is Communion Sunday. An offering box will be in the foyer to receive your Helping Hand offering for the needy in our church and community. Youth Group will meet at 6:00 PM in the CE Center.
Prayer for the New Year
EFCMM begins each New Year with an emphasis on prayer. Our elders will be hosting prayer gatherings during the month of January. Watch your email/ mailbox for your invitation.
