We hope your holidays were wonderful. We have many reminders and updates this month....
Dates to Remember.....
January 21, 2019. We will have a full day at our ASC/NKE site. We will be open from 7:00-5:45. Please have your child pack a lunch, drink and outside gear. We will have Rob the Magician present a show for all of us from 1:00-2:00. Please sign up by 1/14 or you may respond to my email indicating if your child will attend or not and I will update the form.
Outside Gear
We ask that all children/youth have outside gear to enjoy the playground and walking field trips. We have the same rule as OSD. All children need appropriate outside winter gear to put on to play in the snow. If your child does not have the necessary items such as a hat, mittens, snow pants and a coat, they must stay on the black top.
Our Theme: Kindness
At ASC we believe in the value and importance of students treating others with respect, being kind and to be Responsible, Respectful, Safe and a Productive Worker (or a Doer). In our world where you can be anything… We teach children and our staff to be kind. Please help us remind our children that to gain a friend we have to be a friend!
Summer Care
Many of you have been asking. The sign up forms have not gone out yet, but will be sent out and/or given to you to complete by 4/1/2019. PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS… THE OREGON SCHOOL DISTRICT’S LAST DAY OF SCHOOL WILL BE 6/12/19. ASC WILL BE CLOSED 6/12-through the 6/14/2019 TO GET READY FOR THE SUMMER PROGRAM THAT WILL BEGIN ON MONDAY, 6/14/2019 THROUGH FRIDAY, 8/23/2019. Summer School will take place at the OHS and we will have transportation. More details to arrive soon.
THE OSD CALENDAR FOR 2019-2020 HAS BEEN APPROVED. ASC WILL BE CLOSED THE ENTIRE WEEK BEFORE SCHOOL BEGINS…. ASC WILL BE CLOSED 8/26-9/2/2019. SCHOOL AND ASC WILL RESUME CARE AND BEGIN SCHOOL ON 9/3/2019.
THE OSD CUSTODIANS NEED TO GET READY FOR THE SCHOOL SESSION AND WE DO NOT HAVE ANY ROOM TO HAVE CHILDREN IN THE BUILDINGS THAT WEEK.
School In-Service/Vacation Days
In addition to the regular after school care, the After School Club is open on In-service, Conference, and School Vacation Days for optional full day care. All ASC programs meet in the NKE cafeteria. These full days will include special themes and field trips whenever possible. There is an additional charge for care on these scheduled no school days. The fee is $20.00 per day. Children need to be signed up for these days in advance. Any schedule change after the deadline will be charged regular tuition and add-on fees. If your child/youth was scheduled for any full day(s) and or field trip(s) and your child/youth is unable to attend for any reason, families are still obligated to pay the additional fees.
Children will need to bring a cold lunch and drink on these days. If we need to make your child a lunch you may incur a lunch fee of $5.00.
We ask that you ask your child/youth if they want to attend the trip or not because once the deadline is over we do not change what the sign-up sheet states. This causes too much confusion for our children, staff and the facility we will attend for the trip. If a field trip changes due to weather, parents may call the office to find out the alternate location.
Late Pick up
Our WI License states our hours and we have to abide by them. We are open from 7:00-5:45. Please adhere to our drop off and pick up times. Our Teachers and Directors have a set time that they all work to and from during the day and the Board wants them to return home after the set closing time to their own families. The clocks that are in the cafeteria are the clocks that ASC uses to determine the correct time. We close at 5:45P.M. at our ASC/NKE site. Late fees of $1.00 per child will be assessed for a late pick up.
We considerate an honor to work with our families. Please understand that there is a set time that ASC is open and closed for the day.
Needed Supplies
The Explorer group will be making an igloo. We need your help... We are in need of many clean gallon size milk containers for this project. If you have some that you could donate, please bring them into ASC to help us make this special project, THANK YOU!!
