From Prototype to Production: A Case Study

We often talk about how our tools can help with prototyping and one-off designs, but our tools are also cost effective and efficient when it comes to production runs. Case and point: ShopBot's Bill Young took an idea sparked by something not immediately identifiable as a CNC related project... and turned into one.

His most recent blog post tells the story of how his initial idea went through a couple of iterations before becoming a viable project—and a production run containing over 400 pieces!

Digital Fabrication for Educators - 2019 Dates Now Available!

This 2.5-day workshop begins with design and machining using ShopBot tools, then moves into cross-platform training involving other digital fabrication tools (i.e. laser cutters and 3D printers). There is also time specifically allotted for independent work and collaborative development.

New Year, time for a newly surfaced table!

Over time and with continued tool use, your spoilboard gets cut up and out-of-level. Did you know that the SB3 software has a Table Surfacer routine you can run? You can find it in the SB3 menu at the top of your window under "Tools." Use it to level your table so you can start the year with better quality cuts.
