Hey Kids,

China here :)
Welcome to 2019.
How is it going so far for you?
Have you looked back and celebrated 2018 and all your hard work yet?
I think sometimes it's hard to feel successful.  We lose our celebration of the moment to the quest for more: more to accomplish, more to achieve, some new terrain to conquer, pounds to shave, the house project to finish.  You know what I'm talking about.

But what if we stayed in a reflective place for long enough to let our little successes, our little achievements soak in?  What if we let the goodness of what we've experienced fuel us toward a less frantic future?

This is the space I want to inhabit in 2019.  Seth and I are making a new record with all new songs, all new sounds, but before that happens, Seth is taking January to build us a new studio in our new/old garage behind our new/old house on Zuni street.  Yep, you heard me.  As of 23 minutes ago, we passed final inspection on our bump-up bungalow in Sunnyside, praise be to God (and Bryan, our inimitable project manager who held our collective hand all summer as this monstrous project nearly consumed us).

So yeah, new year, new me, new us, new project, new treasures to uncover, new loveliness to experience.  But before we dive into 2019's deep end, let us reflect on and soak up the goodness of 2018.  Here are a few of our highlights:

We released the EP, “The Nowhere Farm Sessions,"
We released our first full-length album, "Nearby"
We filmed two music videos.
We built a new website.
Alright Alright was featured in 17 different articles/publications/online show mentions.
Seth and China had 4 radio interviews.
We had 3 single premiers on 3 acclaimed music outlets
Alright Alright was included in 37 Spotify playlists.
We had 1,100 listeners, 3,000 fans, and were streamed for 39,000 minutes on Spotify
We played 32 shows in 20 different cities in 8 different states.
We built a house. And we moved in.
WHEW.

Let's shine our lights on our past achievements and on the dreams we have for the new year, and let's collectively cheer one another on.  In this project we call living, we need as many cheerleaders as possible.

Hip Hip Hurray!

With so much love,
china, seth and the Alright Alright team.
