We've all heard the concept of "carpe diem." Seize the day. Live in the present. Be here now.  While we should always be mindful of the present moment, it is easy to get caught up in the minutia of daily life. That's why it's important to think (and dream) about the future. Where do you want to be in 2019? What skills do you want to acquire? Maybe it's starting your own design studio. Maybe it's traveling the world while you design. Maybe it's volunteering your time to design for a cause you care about or mentoring a younger designer. You can't do any of those if you don't take time to think about your future. The more specific you are, the better. If you possessed the same level of mastery of the most talented artist and were given a brush to paint your future, what would your imagination paint?

Designers are known for their creative approach to problem solving. Why not use that same type of thinking to design your future?

kometo.design is a fantastic portfolio designed by Rafael Gil, a full-stack designer from Colombia. This week is special because Rafael reached out to us to share his story. Rafael is passionate about design and has worked hard to gain different design skills, including a professional title in Graphic Design from Fundación Universitaria Los Libertadores in Bogotá. He mentioned how spending time designing his website and using a .design domain name helped him land a huge new design project.
